We work so very hard at becoming “better people”, at gaining higher intelligence and more skills. We want acim be loved more and be much more popular. The entire self-help business is focused on improving the home in order to develop into a greater you. That’s another technique we secretly perform on ourselves, thinking we have to help keep spinning our wheels wanting to become better. That self-improvement game is another key we could to master to let go of. It is really enjoyable whenever you begin to understand that you don’t have to become any better than you previously are. You’re developed perfect. It’s maybe not through self-improvement that you will find peace but through self-acceptance.
As I caused A Course in Miracles, I could observe that there is an anxiety about heavenly love in my own mind. I noticed this is the ego’s fear of dropping itself. The ego is scared to be subjected and being regarded as a puff of nothingness. That’s driving a car of intimacy. We talk about that anxiety in associations, which may also be estimated as concern with sexual intimacy, but it is actually an anxiety about dropping our personality, our disguise of individuality. It is driving a car to getting swept out by a fantastic enjoy, a love so powerful that nothing folks can also envision something as glorious and strong!
For me personally, these will be the major strategies, as it does not begin with this particular great awareness. It generally begins with emotion like you have done something amiss, whether you have masturbated, taken something, mistreated some body, or there’s something in your head that you have judged as so hideous that that you don’t also want to handle it, you just want to forget about any of it and drive it out of awareness.
Underneath all those thoughts and ideas, is the opinion that people are separated. This is actually the “secret” we hide. It is actually an impossible opinion, but we feel that it’s correct; We have judged it as horrible and have forced it out of awareness. All unconscious guilt originates from this opinion in separation. And as you probably give your self to the miracle, you’re feeling all those hidden beliefs and secrets are being washed away and you eventually face that concealed belief in separation!
